Brent McKean - P&C President
I am the father of two kids, my daughter who currently attends Bomaderry High School and my son who will be joining her in 2025. I am passionate about our public schools and know the importance of volunteering in the community. I have happily taken on the role of P&C President and I am looking forward to making a positive contribution for the high school. I can be found at Bunning sausage sizzles and pretending to a be a barista inside the P&C coffee cart on the odd occasion. I encourage all parents to join the school P&C to help make Bomaderry High School the best it can be. I look forward to meeting new members at the next P&C meeting.

Karen Wood – P&C Vice President
I have a son currently enrolled in school and my two daughters also attended Bomaderry High.
I joined the P&C in 2014 when my eldest started in year 7. I love the connection the P&C have the teachers, and the real value our committee brings to our children’s school experience. Over the years I’ve filed the role of Canteen Convenor and Secretary.

Racquel Remnant – Vice President
Greetings Bomaderry High School Community!
I am Racquel Remnant, pleased to serve as your Vice President of the Parents and Citizens (P&C) Committee for 2025. My journey with Bomaderry High School began over a decade ago, my son graduated in 2016, followed by my eldest daughter in 2018.
Joining the P&C in 2023 has been an enjoyable experience. I have been actively involved in various fundraising initiatives, from making coffees and supporting our beloved coffee van to serving the famous sausage sandwiches at the Bunnings BBQ for Father's Day.
Looking to the year ahead, I am excited about the opportunities for us all to engage in our children's education. By fostering strong relationships between parents, teachers, and the wider school community, we can collectively uphold Bomaderry High School's commitment to excellence.
I warmly invite you to join us on this journey. Together, let's make 2025 a year filled with positive impact and meaningful connections at Bomaderry High School.

Charlotte Prinsloo – Secretary
I’ve been a member of the P&C since my son started Year 7 at BHS in 2022. I have a daughter who started at BHS in 2024.
I’ve enjoyed the experience of camaraderie and getting to know some wonderful, dedicated people. Also, I appear to like paperwork as I now have plenty of it. I plan to continue to be a part of the P&C for the years to come.
I joined to keep up with what is happening at the school and to understand how the Australian education system works because my high school days were all in South Africa and 30 years ago! My children are teens and largely live their own lives, so this is one way of staying connected with the important things happening in their lives. Life is busy with work and home, and trying to have a social life, but being part of the P&C adds another dimension to life and with it, another way to enjoy it and stay connected to the community as well.

Melanie Lay - Executive Member
I joined the P&C in 2022 with the aim of learning more about what is happening in and around the school (teenagers are not great at sharing that kind of info!) and helping out where I can. I have found the P&C is a great place to connect with other parents and the school in a friendly, welcoming and casual space.
I have a son in the Navy, a son in year 11, a daughter in year 10 and another daughter in primary school. I spent the best part of 15 years working for the Commonwealth Bank, I have a Diploma in Project Management and am a second year Medical and Health Sciences student at UOW. I look forward to a long involvement with BHS and the P&C.

I have 2 adult children, a daughter in year 8, a son in year 11 and a son in year 6.
I joined the P&C at the start of 2024 after moving back to the area after 5 years away. Becoming a member of the P&C has given me opportunity to get to know some of our schools welcoming dedicated staff and parents, be more informed of what’s happening within our school, community, be active in contributing to important suggestions and decisions and help with activities for our school community.

Kylie O'Neill – Canteen Manager
I have been a member of the P&C since my son started year 7 and have enjoyed every moment, including the difficulties of covid, which I felt just made us stronger. Being part of the P&C gives you a chance to look behind the scenes to what the school does and has planned for our children. I am sure when you ask your kids "What did you do in school today?", they probably give the same answer as mine..."not much" or "nothing fun". But then if you probe more and ask more specific questions, you will find out more details, like how nice the library is, how the nice and easy the new school buses make it to get to sports and excursions, what they are doing in metal/woodwork, how cute the animals are in Agriculture or the nice food they make in Food Tech.
I could go on, but these are the things you learn about in the P&C, the level of commitment and the constant striving to make the school a better place for our kids. We, at the P&C assist in making these decisions and no idea is treated like a dumb idea. So come along to a meeting, give the BHS P&C a try and make the school a better place for your child as well.
