Mathematics
The study of mathematics is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10 in NSW Department of Education schools.
The NSW Department of Education Mathematics K-10 Syllabus (2022) emphasises reasoning, fluency, communication and problem-solving, organised around the concepts of Number and Algebra, Measurement and Space, and Statistics and Probability. The overarching Working Mathematically outcome is woven throughout the syllabus, highlighting the processes of reasoning, communicating, problem-solving, understanding and fluency. The study of mathematics provides students the opportunities to enjoy and appreciate the value of mathematics, while developing the mathematical skills necessary to prepare them for future educational and career options.

Student support
Our teachers use a range of teaching strategies to make mathematics engaging and accessible to all students, including Google Classroom and interactive digital mathematics tools like Geogebra and Desmos. In addition, students have access to Maths Online, an online learning platform for mathematics. Tasks may be set by teachers for completion in class or as homework. Students (and carers) can access helpful videos, worksheets and question banks to supplement their learning at home.
